Been a while since I have updated the blog...i have been struggling staying disciplined on my eating. I am still working out and running daily just need to eat better.
Ran a mile on Thursday the 26th in 9:31...Running a 5k with Carolyn this afternoon, hoping for 32 mins (fingers crossed)

Ran a 5k course with Carolyn in 34 mins...very good run, felt great

What a great day! I ate very well and got a great workout in...I need to start every week like this!
Had a SALAD for lunch. It consisted of spinach, sliced almonds, raisins, fresh cut strawberries, with a strawberry vingerette dressing...YUMMO!!
Got a good chest and legs workout in...kinda did the spartacus workout (very tough)
Ready to take on this week head on now!!

Jan. 17th
I had a good day of eating well minus the Dairy Queen Blizzard i treated myself too after supper, but need to cheat every now and then.
I started off my workout by running a mile. I ran it in 9:25. Very good but boring since I had to run on the track at the Courts. Then I got a good bicep workout in following the run!

Martin Luther King Day started off great by spending time with the family at the dr. office getting a recheck of Bennett's ear...All clear thank goodness
Then we all went to eat at Cracker Barrell..fun times
Got a good workout in the afternoon, worked out chest by doing bench press and cable crossover machine.
Ate good today and had two helpings of salad at supper...Yay me!

Finally back to normal...got a good 2 mile run in with Carolyn this afternoon.

Recovery
So the past couple of days I have been recovering from surgery and have not got to work out or run any...I have not been eating that great either...oops but I have not given in to my no soft drink challenge!!
Weigh-in in the morning...hoping the work i put in at the first of the week overshadowed my badness at the end of the week...stay tuned to the results

Back in the routine of work then working out then home to hang out with the family!
I ate OK...would not say it was great but didn't eat anything too bad
Workout was a great one...I got a good chest, tricep, and bicep workout in and i am sure I will be sore tomorrow. After the workout, I ran for 1 mile!
Feeling much better and ready for my 1 week weigh in to see if the scale shows the same kind of progress!

Not sure how many calories I burned today but it sure was fun sitting on the couch watching college football all day.
Did very well on my eating and drinking water since I did not get a workout in, ready to get back into my routine tomorrow of working and working out!

First day with no soft drinks
MAJOR HEADACHES!
I am very addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Mt. Dew, I have probably drank at least some kind of soft drink everyday for a long time. I am stopping that cold turkey! It will aid in my weight loss and will lead to just a healthier life in general.

I am starting off the new year by challenging myself to lose weight. I am wanting to get down to 225 lbs.
My starting weight on Jan 1, 2012 is 292 lbs.
I have also challenged myself not to drink any soft drinks all year...If you know me well, you know how much of a challenge this will be, but I am mentally ready to meet this challenge head on!
